The Prison of Unforgiveness

Holding onto bitterness is like drinking poison and waiting for the other person to die. The image is old because it is accurate. The grievance may be legitimate. The ongoing rehearsal of it rarely is. Over time the unforgiving heart becomes its own cage. Forgiveness, when it comes, is often less about the offender and more about the prisoner finally walking out.
How you’d preach it
Classic and still effective. Helps people see that bitterness often locks the one who holds it more tightly than the one it is held against.
