God seems oddly fond of broken people. Scripture is full of them—Moses the murderer, David the adulterer, Peter the denier, Paul the former persecutor. The pattern is consistent enough to be a doctrine: weakness and failure, when brought into the light, become the very places where grace is most visible. A polished life can hide the need for God. A broken one often cannot.
