One workplace rule runs: “Don’t be irreplaceable. If you can’t be replaced, you can’t be promoted.” The same principle applies more broadly. When a person becomes the only one who can do a particular work, the work itself is fragile and the person is often exhausted. Healthy leadership multiplies rather than concentrates.
