Car Salesman vs. Parent

Salt & Pepper – Everyday Seasoning

When I worked for a short time selling vehicles, I noticed something: the people who are best at “selling” a van are not usually the sales team at the dealership. It’s the parents who already own one — the ones with Cheerios on the floor and hockey bags or soccer balls in the trunk. A young family looking for a van will usually trust the word of another family who has actually lived with the vehicle more than they will trust the person whose job it is to sell it. Pastors often face a similar skepticism. The title itself can make people tune out because they assume you’re “just doing your job.” Ordinary believers who are simply living the Christian life in front of others often carry more relational credibility than the professional.

How you’d preach it

Encouraging picture that takes the pressure off “professional” evangelism and highlights the power of ordinary, lived witness.
