A Rule of Life

Practicing the Way – John Mark Comer

John Mark Comer encourages the recovery of a “rule of life” — a thoughtful, personalized set of practices and relational rhythms that help us stay abiding in Jesus. It is not a rigid list of rules for earning God’s favor. It is more like a trellis that supports a vine: a structure that creates space for the life of God to grow in us. A good rule of life usually includes practices around prayer, Scripture, rest, community, and mission, adapted to a person’s season and stage of life.
