Counting the Cost

Luke 14:28-33

Jesus told would-be followers to count the cost the way a builder estimates a tower or a king assesses an army. The point is not to discourage commitment but to make it honest. A faith that never calculates the price often collapses when the price becomes real. Real discipleship begins with eyes open.
