Square Toes or Round?
Ronald Reagan anecdote
As a boy, Ronald Reagan was taken to a cobbler for new shoes. The cobbler asked whether he wanted square toes or round. Reagan could not decide. Days later the cobbler asked again; still no answer. Finally the cobbler said he would make one of each. Reagan later used the story to illustrate that indecision itself has a cost. The shoes did not match. Many of life’s larger choices work the same way: waiting too long does not leave the options open—it often closes them.
How you’d preach it
Light and memorable for the cost of indecision. Sometimes refusing to choose is itself a choice with consequences.
