Some of the psalms are written from deep darkness. Scripture does not require believers to pretend they are always fine. Depression, discouragement, and heaviness of spirit appear in the lives of people God used. The first step toward help is often the honesty to say, “This is what I am carrying,” rather than the pressure to perform strength.
How you’d preach it
Permission-giving for those who suffer internally. Naming depression is not unbelief; hiding it often is more dangerous.
