You Got Cheated
Clarence Jordan (Koinonia Farm)
Clarence Jordan was being shown a church’s impressive new facilities. The pastor pointed with pride to a large illuminated cross on the steeple that had cost ten thousand dollars. Jordan replied, “You got cheated. Times were when Christians could get them for free.” The point was not architecture. It was that the real cross has always been available—and costly in a different currency.
