Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” The order matters. Obedience does not purchase love. Love, when it is…
Obedience · Love · Discipleship
John 14
Analogy
Matthew 5:44
Jesus did not say to tolerate enemies or to avoid them. He said to love them and pray for those who persecute you. The command is so familiar that its difficulty can be missed. Loving an enemy is not sentiment. It is a deliberate refusal to let hostility have the last word in the heart.
How you’d preach it
Direct from Jesus. The command is clear; the practice remains one of the hardest.
