Tim Keller, The Reason for God
As the first Adam was tested in the Garden of Eden, the last Adam was tested in the Garden of Gethsemane. The first Adam knew a garden of pleasure and chose disobedience. The last Adam faced a garden of agony and chose obedience. The contrast is the heart of the gospel: where the first representative failed, the second stood firm for us.
