Among the Mazatec Indians, people were often hesitant to wish others well or to share knowledge. The underlying belief was “limited good”—that there is only so much good, knowledge, or love to go around. To give some away was to lose it yourself. The gospel confronts that assumption. God’s goodness is not a fixed pie. Blessing shared is not blessing lost.

Reveals a mindset that treats blessing as a zero-sum resource. The gospel frees us from that scarcity.
