meaning of “gospel”
The word “gospel” means good news. News is something that has happened, not primarily a list of things to do. The Christian message begins with what God has done in Christ—His life, death, and resurrection—before it ever moves to the response that news requires. When the order is reversed, the gospel becomes another religious program.
How you’d preach it
Reminds preachers and hearers that the Christian message is announcement before it is advice.
