Metaphor
traditional observation on greed
Greed is a thirst that grows by drinking. Whatever is gained quickly becomes the new baseline, and the ache for more returns. The problem is not primarily the amount possessed. It is the conviction that the next amount will finally be enough. It never is.
How you’d preach it
Names the restless nature of greed. It is not cured by acquisition.
