Bernard Rimland study (via Our Daily Bread)

Researcher Bernard Rimland asked people to list ten people they knew well and label each as happy or not happy, then as selfish or unselfish. The correlation was strong: the happiest people were those who helped others. The finding is not surprising to readers of Scripture, but it is still useful. Joy is more often found on the path of giving than on the path of self-protection.
