Common gospel illustration
Many of us spend our lives climbing a ladder — trying to reach God, prove ourselves, earn acceptance, or finally feel “enough.” The gospel does not tell us to climb faster or build a better ladder. It tells us to lean the ladder against the cross and stop climbing. The distance has already been closed by Someone else. The work is finished. The invitation is to rest in what has already been done.
