Jesus’ invitations in the Gospels
Jesus repeatedly invited: “Come to me.” The posture is open, not closed. The Christian message begins with welcome before it moves to the cost of following. People who feel they must clean themselves up first have usually misunderstood the order of the invitation.
How you’d preach it
The gospel is not primarily a demand but an invitation to come.
