“I Am Not 100% Certain”

Demolishing Doubt – Cliffe & Stuart Knechtle

When asked if he is 100% certain that Christianity is true, Cliffe Knechtle answers honestly: No. He points out that his own doubts show up every day in his sin. When he sins, he is functionally saying, “God, I think I have a better idea of how to be happy than You do.” This kind of honesty is refreshing. Absolute mathematical certainty is not required for genuine faith. What is required is enough evidence to trust, and a willingness to keep following the light we have been given.
