Dayville High in Oregon, with only eighteen girls in the school, once ran a 65-game volleyball winning streak. After the eventual loss, the letter reporting the news added that the team had “rebounded and has a winning streak of one.” The perspective is stubbornly hopeful. One victory after defeat is already a new beginning.
