Patience Is a Long Obedience

Patience in Scripture is closer to steadfastness than to calm personality. It is the willingness to remain under a load without forcing a premature exit. Many of the outcomes we want most are formed only on the far side of sustained waiting. Impatience tries to seize the fruit before it is ripe.
