Peace That Guards

Philippians 4:7

“The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The image is military. Peace stands watch. It does not always remove the threat. It keeps the inner life from being overrun while the threat remains.

How you’d preach it

Christian peace is not the absence of conflict. It is a guard for the heart and mind in the middle of it.
