A Soft Answer
Proverbs 15:1
“A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” The proverb does not claim that every conflict disappears with gentle speech. It does claim that the manner of the reply shapes what happens next. Many quarrels grow less from the original issue than from the escalating tone with which it is handled.
