Snake Game and Screen Time

December 28 – The Usher Effect (Psalm 78)

When my parents got one of their first cell phones, I used to take it whenever they weren’t looking — not because I had important calls to make as a 7-year-old, but because I could play Snake. That simple game felt revolutionary at the time. Today the average teenager spends around 8½ hours a day on screens for entertainment alone (video games, social media, movies, etc.). That is roughly the equivalent of a full school day of influence shaping what they believe is good, right, important, and worth following. The question is not whether young people will be formed. The question is *who* or *what* will do the forming.

How you’d preach it

Strong contemporary statistic + personal nostalgia that sets up the urgency of intentional generational discipleship.
