The Crucified Life – A.W. Tozer
Tozer insists that the Christian life is not the old self improved, but the old self crucified. He writes that many believers want the benefits of the cross (forgiveness, peace, heaven) without accepting the sentence of the cross on their own ego, ambitions, and self-will. The crucified life is a life in which the self is daily put to death so that Christ may live and rule. It is not a one-time event but an ongoing posture of surrender.
How you’d preach it
