The wall that looked permanent

For twenty-eight years the Berlin Wall was the most convincing argument in Europe that some divisions do not move. Then, in November 1989, a confused press conference, a surge of people, and a border guard who would not fire turned the concrete into a souvenir. Historians still argue over causes. What no one disputes is this: the thing everyone had learned to live around fell faster than the experts predicted. Permanence is often just a story we tell ourselves so we can sleep.
How you’d preach it
Pair with texts about strongholds, reconciliation, or the suddenness of God’s kingdom. Do not over-preach providence into every headline. Do say: what looks immovable in a family, a habit, or a city may not be as final as it feels.
