The hole in the ground
Matthew 25:14–30
One servant buries what he was given because he has decided the master is hard. Fear becomes prudence. Prudence becomes a hole. The others risk and return a profit. The parable is not a capitalist fable. It is about what we do with a trust when we do not trust the Giver. The safest-looking faith can be the one that refuses to spend anything.
How you’d preach it
Name the hole: unused gifts, unspoken gospel, money held as if the Master were cruel. Fear of him is not the same as fearing to disappoint him.
