Not in the wind
1 Kings 19
Elijah has seen fire on Carmel and still runs for his life. In the cave the Lord is not in the wind, not in the earthquake, not in the fire, and then a thin silence. The prophet who wanted a spectacle is given a whisper and a next assignment. Burnout can look like fidelity until God asks what you are doing here. The work after the whisper is ordinary again: anoint, walk, find Elisha.
How you’d preach it
Use after a big Sunday, or with leaders who think God owes them Carmel every week. The whisper is not lesser. It is how he keeps a man in the work.
