George Müller ran orphanages in Bristol without fundraising appeals. He asked God, and he told the story afterward. One morning there was no food on the table. Müller gave thanks anyway. As they finished praying, the baker arrived with bread he said he had been unable to sleep for thinking about; then the milkman came, his cart broken down in front of the house, offering the milk before it spoiled. The point is not a formula. It is a man who treated prayer as a real request to a real Father.
How you’d preach it
Use for prayer that expects God to act, without turning Müller into a vending-machine promise. The story is about dependence, not technique. Ask what the church has stopped requesting because it no longer expects an answer.
