Object lesson
2 Kings 5:1–14
Naaman arrives with letters, silver, and a skin he cannot command. Elisha will not even come out. Wash in the Jordan seven times. The general wanted a gesture worthy of Syria. The servant girl and his own staff talk him into the humiliation. He goes down into ordinary water and comes up new. Healing refuses to flatter his rank.
How you’d preach it
The Jordan is the sermon. Ask what simple obedience this room finds beneath them. Pride is often just a refusal to get wet in public.
