The barns that could not hold him
Luke 12:13–21
A rich man’s land produces, and his only thought is larger barns and a longer ease. God calls him fool, and the night his soul is required the barns still belong to no one who can use them. Jesus tells this when a man wants him to settle an inheritance. The warning is not against farming. It is against a life that is rich toward itself and poor toward God.
How you’d preach it
Ask what we are building to store a future we have already named “mine.” Bigger barns are often just anxiety with a floor plan.
