2 Corinthians 12:7–10
Paul asked three times. The answer was not removal. It was “my grace is sufficient,” and a thorn left in. He will not name the thing — illness, opposition, a wound we are still guessing. The point is the refusal. Power is made perfect in weakness, which is a sentence you can only preach if you have asked for the other outcome. Some prayers are answered by a no that keeps you human.
How you’d preach it
Do not diagnose Paul’s thorn. Diagnose our demand that grace look like relief. Sufficient is a hard word and a kind one.
