Analogy
Luke 7:36–50
A Pharisee’s table, a woman in tears, and a little story about two canceled debts. Which debtor will love more? Simon gives the right answer and will not apply it. Forgiveness is not a theory at this dinner. It is wet on Jesus’ feet. People who think they owe little always worship little. The analogy is a trap with kindness in it.
How you’d preach it
Let the room do Simon’s math. Then ask what they think they owe. Small debt is often just poor bookkeeping.
