Two coins that weighed more
Mark 12:41–44; Luke 21:1–4
Jesus watches the treasury. The rich throw in what will be noticed. A widow puts in two lepta — almost nothing, and her whole life. He does not praise her poverty. He measures the gift by what is left at home. The object is small enough to lose between the pews and heavy enough to judge a capital campaign. Heaven’s scales do not use our weights.
How you’d preach it
Hold two small coins if you can. Refuse to use her as a fundraising close. The point is the God who sees the leftover, not the total.
